Eagle Park totem pole is near Ketchikan cruise port!

Eagle Park is named such not because you can see bald eagles here, but because there’s a big eagle totem pole!

If you happen to be in the area and walking by, it’s quite easy to see.

But otherwise, depending on where your cruise ship docks, Eagle Park may not be on your walking route as you explore other parts of downtown Ketchikan!

So you might need to seek it out!

It will be a quick visit. You basically only go to see the totem pole. Once you’ve seen the totem pole, onwards you go!

I missed out on seeing this iconic Ketchikan eagle totem pole my first couple of times in Ketchikan.

But finally, I made it over to Eagle Park!

Tips for going to Eagle Park in Ketchikan Alaska

Walk all around the eagle totem pole!

You will see different designs from every angle, so be sure to do a walk around the totem pole!

Eagle Park isn’t much of a “park.”

Eagle Park isn’t a park as most people would think of.

This park is quite literally just the totem pole.

It’s basically a totem pole located on the side of the road with a patch of grass.

So, it makes for a quick visit!

Eagle Park will be a 5 to 10 minute walk from your cruise ship.

If you’re on a cruise ship that docks in downtown Ketchikan (which is all cruise lines not named NCL), then it will take you no more than 10 minutes to walk to the eagle totem pole!

If you arrive to Ketchikan on a Norwegian cruise ship, you won’t be docking in downtown Ketchikan. In that case, you will be a 10 minute walk from where the Ward Cove shuttle drops you off in downtown Ketchikan.

👆 If your cruise ship is docked at Berth 4, or if you take the Ward Cove shuttle to downtown Ketchikan, then you will be a 10 minute walk from Eagle Park. This is also the direction you’ll be walking to do anything in Ketchikan, so it will be right along the way! Explore the map.

There is also a free shuttle that loops around downtown Ketchikan that you can take to go to Totem Heritage Center if you don’t want to walk. (If you are up for leisurely walk through Ketchikan, it is walkable, though!)
